I don’t know what it is but kids of all ages love ‘em! Fill ‘em with a slip of paper or a coin – bat, bop, swat, pop, volley or float them…whatever you do, you’ll get their attention.

As always- use these ideas as a foundation for YOUR inspired ideas.

Don’t be afraid to use the trial and AIR method to find out what works best!

One warning – with your success, don’t get an over INFLATED opinion of yourself!

Okay – back to work…Write one word of the Bible verse for children on each balloon. Scatter the balloons around the room. Have a team of kids find the balloons, return them to a table and place the Bible Memory Verse in order.

The fun part is the balloons are hard to keep still on the table! Especially when they get static built up!

Think that is fun? Add a fan to the memory verse game. Aim it toward the table. The team of 2 or 3 kids have to hold their balloons in order and read off the Bible Memory Verse.

Give ‘em the Slip!

Put each word of your Bible Verses for Children on a slip of paper. Insert one in each balloon prior to blowing it up.

Kids must pop the balloons to find the words and place in order! What’s really fun is the kids must sit on the balloons to pop the balloon.

It gets pretty silly. You can time this one too for an option.

Volley Verse

kids- bible
Materials needed: PP slide, stopwatch, balloons with two words of the Bible Verses for children on each balloon.

Have 4 volunteers come up. Start with one balloon and say the words written on it to the class. The class repeats the words.

Throw the balloon in the air and have the team volley it to keep it off the ground. Repeat this with each balloon and see if the team can keep all the balloons off the ground at once. Stop the game when all the balloons are in the air and then have the team arrange them in order.

If a balloon drops to ground during volley, place it back in play till all are in air.

As an option, time this game…see which team completes it in the least amount of time.

Volley Verse 2

Materials needed: PP slide of verse, masking tape, balloon.

Display the slide and go over it with class. Pick two or 4 volunteers and have them face each other several feet apart.

You may put a piece of tape between them for a line. Toss the balloon to one team. They must look on the slide quickly and say the first word. before or as they hit the balloon to the other side.

The next team must say the next word of the verse before hitting the balloon. Continue in this manner scoring points as in a regular volleyball game.

Play to a certain score or time this. The idea is to keep repeating the words of the Bible Memory verse. If a verse is completed during a volley and ball is still in play – start at the first word of the verse again.

T-Shirt Option 1

Select two teams of two players (girls and boys). Place one team member of each team at a white board or chalkboard.

The game is played as above but now as the player yells out the Bible memory verse word on the balloon, the other team member writes it on the board.
When all the balloons are in the shirt, the team of two must write the verse in order on the board.

The first team to both stuff the balloons and write the verse in order – wins!

T-Shirt Option 2

kids- bibleRun a relay race. Select two teams. Place the 2 T-shirt boys about 20 feet or more from their team.

Give each team a balloon set of the Bible verse. Start the game. One team member picks up a balloon and yells out the word on it. Then they run their balloon to their T-shirt team member and stuffs a balloon in the shirt.

When all the balloons of one team are stuffed into their shirt, start the relay in reverse order. The balloons are removed by team members one at a time and run back to the start.

The balloons are placed in order by the team. The first team to place all their balloons in the correct order-wins!

Note – always come prepared with extra supplies. Have a marker on hand and blown up balloons. If a balloon breaks – quickly write the word on a balloon and replace it.
