Bible Memory Verses
Don’t be Bored – Use a Board

Try These Activities

kids- bible

Write the Bible Verses for Children on:

1. Individual sheets of paper or card stock – one word per sheet.

Tape to the wall in order or have kids hold up sheets.

2. Poster board, dry erase board (white board) or chalkboard

Once you have the Bible verses for children written in one of the forms above – go over the verse a few times. Then try one of these variations:

Take Away!

Erase, cover or turn over a word or two from the Bible verse – see if the kids can fill in the blank.

Keep removing words until the kids can say the whole verse without prompts or visuals.

Mix it Up!

Mix up the Bible verses for children on cards or board. Have individual kids come up and put a word in the proper place.

Repeat with kids until the Bible verse is in the correct order.

Match ‘em up!

Write a word of the Bible verse on each card. Make two cards for each word. Write a number on the back of each card.

Tape the cards in random order on the wall or a whiteboard. Or, place the cards face down on the floor in front of the kids.

Kids take a turn calling out a number and then another number to try and match up two identical words of the Bible memory verse.
Lay one set of the cards out in order to form the verse as they are matched.

Play as a large group or small group – in teams or as a whole.

Bible Memorization using Bible games for children is a fun and effective way to hide God’s word in their heart.
