Bible Object Lessons
Give ‘em a Hand!
Let’s continue with Bible object lessons on salvation and hit it from a different angle. Let’s talk about the weight of sin.
I mean you can begin your kids Bible lesson talking about the burden of sin. But, to a kid..what the heck is a burden?
So let’s get a concrete idea for weight, something that wears you down and out. It slows you down for our christian object lesson.
The light’s coming on here now, right?

Let’s take a kid’s backpack. Kids use one everyday.
that’s gold!
Pull up a volunteer. Put the backpack on them. Have them walk around. Then start to add books to the backpack as they walk.
Relate how we sin everyday whether we know it or not. Refer to the verse and talk about how it slows us down and wears us out.
Call some other kids
up to put on the backpack and walk around a bit.
Heavy isn’t it?
The weight of sin begins to add up. Relate it to how it feels at the end of the school day to finally get home and take it off. Feels good right?
Bring the Christian object lesson home.
Talk about how we can confess are sins and be forgiven. It’s like tossing that backpack off after school.
Pull the books out one by one as you confess some sins they might deal with.
Talk about the freedom from the weight and burden of sin that Jesus brings.
