Be Original – Experiment

We’ve covered some different delivery methods that keep your Bible stories for kids interactive and fun.

Here are a few more ideas. I won’t “flesh it all out” now. However, this gives your own creativity and imagination a kick start.

Remember you hold all the creativity you need when you allow the Holy Spirit to “light you up”.

  • Use kid’s figurines to act out the Bible story.

Yeah, as corny and crazy as this sounds – it works! It’s one of those phenomena where “it’s so cheesy and bad that it’s cool”.

Move the figures around and do Bible character’s voices. Try it with Mr. Potato Heads too – hey, it’s for the kids, just try, okay?

  • Do a skit for kids using the kids to act out the kids Bible story.
  • No practice or rehearsal allowed! It’s more fun feeding lines to the kids as you go.

I like to tell the kids Bible story first, then go back and have the kids act it out. This is great for a review.

  • Make a video of the kids Bible skit above
  • When you do the skit for kids, tape it. Play it back in class for fun.

Kids love to see themselves on film. Play it back when finished or in a mid – week class or the following week for a review!

  • Make your own video of the story before class.
  • Again, this doesn’t have to be a slick, professional job – funny is good. Kids are used to You Tube quality videos. This type will work!

  • Be on the lookout for ideas

Look through books, magazines (i.e. Highlights for Children, Family Fun Magazine), websites, kid shows, curriculum.

Go to the library and look through books and magazines. You can keep current with what kids are into and pick up ideas for different presentation methods for your Bible stories.

This is a great way to get ideas for Bible games, crafts and Bible activities too.

Modify it, tweak it to work for your Bible stories for kids.
