Why Bible Skits?

Any short and sweet drama is ideal for kicking off kids Bible lessons.
Bible Skits create intrigue or provide a smile while presenting the lesson.
Introduce teens or adults to kids ministry in a simple, fun way
Character skits bring a new, fresh face into the classroom
Younger children tend to “trust” puppets and let their guard down.
Four Puppet Bible Skits are Included!
Each Gifts of Christmas kids Bible lesson includes puppet scripts that are simple and require very little preparation and props.
Here is what you get! Four Quick Puppet Bible Skits

Four simple puppet scripts that introduce your kids Bible lesson using Kick Rick as the puppet character.
Note: Kick Rick can be any boy puppet or the puppet script can also be modified to be a girl, no problem!
The puppet script is dialogue between the teacher or any adult and the puppet.
Here is a brief description of each puppet script for The Gifts of Christmas Intro Pack:
- Lesson 1, Unconditional Love – Rick experiences unconditional love from his mom.
- Lesson 2, The Sacrifice – Rick learns just how good sacrificial giving feels.
- Lesson 3, Good News! – Rick receives good news when he shares the Good News with someone.
- Lesson 4, Everyday Worship – Rick decides to live His life to God in a practical way.
Kick Rick’s Bio
Kick Rick is a good kid who more often than not tries to do the right thing. Sometimes he strays off the path a bit but most often is misled or misunderstands a concept.
He is usually quick to repent and re-align his thinking and actions. Any puppet really can be used for Kick Rick.
These skits are designed to be a quick introduction to the lesson Pivot Point. There is interaction between Rick and the teacher and occasionally the class.
No special costume is required.
This requires a simple set up, no extensive puppet skills and no extra props. It is a cool and easy way to grab kids attention and prepare them for the kid’s Bible lesson.
Four, 2 Part Character Skits are also Included!

Sam the Short Order Cook or Wendy the Waitress.
These Bible skits introduce the kids Bible lessons. These can be used in addtion to the puppet skits or by themselves.
Here is a brief description of each short character skit for The Gifts of Christmas Intro Pack:
- Lesson 1, Sam realizes the amount of care he puts into his cooking pales in comparison to God’s care for His kids.
- Lesson 2, Wendy sacrifices her afternoon off for a co-worker and finds out later how right it was she did.
- Lesson 3, Sam’s business is down but soon receives some good news for the holidays.
- Lesson 4, Wendy finds out worship isn’t just about being in church!
These Bible skits are simple to set up and prepare for. No extensive drama skills and just some common accessories and costumes.
These drama scripts are sometimes amusing and always thought provoking intros that grab kid’s attention and prepares them for the kids Bible lessons.
Bible Skits Backgrounds and Character Bios

Sam and Wendy work in the restaurant that Sam owns. They won’t appear together though. Both of these characters do monologues, talking out loud to themselves working through ideas, emotions and problems.
Each skit is divided into two parts:
- Part one is an intro skit at the beginning of the lesson
- Intro Bible skits talk about a situation without a solution
- Part two works well following the Lesson Launch
- The second skit brings a closure and solution which parallels the lesson topic
Costumes and Accessories
- Sam’s costume is a chef’s hat, apron, spatula and other kitchen accessories
- Wendy wears and apron and has pencil behind ear, order pad and rag to wash tables
General Suggestions
On both types of Bible skits we can’t stress enough – MAKE IT FUN! Don’t be dry or lifeless or it will bomb big time.
Find someone who will give the skits life! Don’t overlook the teens in your church.
Kids love to see them in their classroom. A teen that is into drama can really run with a part and develop it to the max!
Ad lib, be creative! Please don’t be stiff- try to find someone who will get into character.
It would be ideal if you could consistently do Sam or Wendy with the same actor playing the part. It’s just a short script with minimal preparation and practice.
