icebreaker introduction
Here is a simple example of an icebreaker skit that is found in a KICKRiCKulum Lord’s Prayer lesson.

The puppet is a skateboarder who has a misunderstanding of the lesson verse.

Kidnabber Icebreaker Skit

Materials needed: Puppet, skateboard (optional)

Teacher: Good morning, everyone! Let’s listen to our Bible Memory Verse for today. Our verse is, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Say it with me. (Children repeat verse after teacher).

Puppet: Interrupts class by his entrance carrying a skateboard. Hi everybody! That verse has me excited!

Teacher: Really? Do you like to do God’s will?

Puppet: What? Well yes, of course but that’s not what I am talking about.

Teacher: Well, now you have me curious. We are talking about God’s will. What are you talking about?

Puppet: Well, I am talking about the Bible lesson verse too. That’s why I have my skateboard with me today!

Teacher: I was going to ask that. What does the skateboard have to do with God’s will?

Puppet: Nothing! I’m talking about God’s hill He has on earth just like the one in Heaven! I bet it’s huge!

Teacher: God’s hill? I am really out of it here. Can you please explain?

Puppet: You know. The Bible memory verse, “God’s hill on earth, just like in heaven.” I can’t wait to find it and get some HUGE air!

Teacher: Ohhhhhh…You have gotten the Bible memory verse wrong again. It’s not God’s hill. It’s God’s will on earth. Jesus said, “Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Puppet: No hill? Oh bummer! I bet when we do get to heaven that God has the best hills though!

Teacher: I bet God does! Want to stay today and learn more about God’s will?

Puppet: I’d love to but I gotta o go back home and work on my new ramp. See you all next week! (Puppet exits).
